چکیده
Abstract This study aims to evaluate Kharita gas reservoir enhance the production. The increase in water-cut ratio reduces left hydrocarbons’ amount behind pipe. Accurate determination of pore throats, pores connectivity and fluid distribution are central elements improved description. integration core logging data responses is often used draw inferences about lithology, depositional sequences, facies, content. These based on petrophysical models utilizing correlations among tools’ as well rocks fluids properties. Upper Formation produces condensate from clastic sandstone Badr-3 field, western desert Egypt. It consists mainly with shale intercalations. subdivided into three sub-units A, B C that pressure communication. Hence, a new further investigation review for previously calculated GIIP (gas initially place) was initiated. results this yielded main uncertainty volumetric calculations evaluation; subsequently, unconventional evaluation approach performed. sands thickness varies between more than 9 up 61 m average porosity values range 0.08 0.17 PU while permeability 1.89 696.66 mD. hydrocarbon saturation 46 97%. Reservoir cutoff 55% by using cross-plot volume (Toby Darling concept) utilized discriminate non-reservoir sections. model calculate porosity, density log. Archie saturation/height function were water calibrate transition zone. porosity–permeability (POR-PERM) transform equation estimate (absolute permeability) four facies (High Quality Reservoir, Moderate Low Highly Shale Reservoir). Core have shown variations quality parameters (porosity one other. Integration all pressures indicated there different types (oil, water) level. geological geophysical log helped conduct comprehensive assessment better estimation achieve understanding encroachment reservoir. big challenge most correct calculating sand. resulted doubling volumes so perforation campaign performed confirm calculations, which showed good match results. drilled targeting low sand found them high almost near virgin pressure.

A revision of the Upper Cretaceous lepidosirenid lungfishes from the Quseir Formation, Western Desert, central Egypt
We evaluate new lungfish remains from the Upper Cretaceous Quseir Formation in the Western Dessert of southern Egypt. Taxa include Lavocatodus protopteroides, L. humei, L. giganteus, and Protopterus nigeriensis. We treat Lavocatodus as members of Lepidosirenidae based on the presence of a well-defined medial articular surface, in the absence of a symphyseal surface of corresponding prearticular...
متن کاملDevelopment of an Intelligent System to Synthesize Petrophysical Well Logs
Porosity is one of the fundamental petrophysical properties that should be evaluated for hydrocarbon bearing reservoirs. It is a vital factor in precise understanding of reservoir quality in a hydrocarbon field. Log data are exceedingly crucial information in petroleum industries, for many of hydrocarbon parameters are obtained by virtue of petrophysical data. There are three main petrophysical...
متن کامل15.2 Common Issues in Petrophysical Analysis of Tight Gas Sandstones
We discuss petrophysical analysis of wireline logs, methods for formation evaluation and issues in evaluating tight sandstone formations. The main concerns of log interpretation in tight gas sandstones include porosity interpretation, understanding the effect of clay on the log responses, accurate computation of water saturation, and permeability determination (Kukal et al., 1985). Moreover, va...
متن کاملReview of Well Logs and Petrophysical Approaches for Shale Gas in Sichuan Basin, China
China has vast reserves of shale gas. Currently, shale gas is one of the focuses of the unconventional reservoir. Well logs play an import role in shale gas production, and it is the bridge connecting geology, geophysics and petroleum engineering. In the exploration stage, well logs are used to identify lithology, evaluate the parameters of mineral types and compositions, total organic carbon (...
